Kinesiology and Candida...

Candida Albicans is a common yeast that lives naturally and in harmony in our intestines. It is kept in check by beneficial bacteria that co-exist with it. However, under certain circumstances, for example after a course of antibiotics, it can become what is known as an 'opportunistic pathogen' and produce a wide array of symptoms.

Diets high in nutrients on which yeast thrives (i.e. sugars and other refined carbohydrates) encourage yeast overgrowth. Candida produces toxic by-products which weaken the already compromised immune system and leave the sufferer fatigued and drained.

  • General fatigue and lethargy
  • Headache
  • Skin problems
  • Mouth ulcers
  • Weight loss or gain
  • Digestive problems
  • Lapses of memory
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Fogginess in the brain
  • Lack of co-ordination
  • Muscle or joint pain
  • Blocked nose or sinuses
  • Pallor
  • Thrush
  • Athletes Foot
  • Mucus in stools
  How can I treat Candida?

  • Exclude yeast and carbohydrate form your diet. There is yeast in wine, vinegars, marmite and most bread. Carbohydrates are found in pasta, bread, biscuits, sweets, sugars and cakes.
  • Take supplements to boost the immune system. Vitamins A, B and C and zinc may help.
  • Take natural anti-fungal agents to destroy the candida.
  • Take probiotics to restore the normal balance of friendly bacteria in the gut.
